Description of the problem
When driving mine roadways in zones presenting geological disturbance the lack of strata cohesion can lead to falls of ground ; this has to be prevented by reinforcing the local rock.

Treatment commences with the drilling of injection holes to a pre-established pattern, according to the nature of the strata in question. These holes are then provided with injection pipes and gland seals. In loose strata drilling is undertaken using self-drilling Forinflex injectable rockbolts.
A metering pump is used to inject the product through the injection pipe or rockbolt.
The product’s low viscosity enables it to penetrate into the smallest cracks and fissures.
Being quick to set and having a high adhesive strength, along with excellent mechanical properties, the product restores cohesion to the strata and in this way improves the safety and performance of the roadheading operation.
It is advisable to begin treatment again before moving on from the previously injected zone.
The choice of resin will be determined by the local conditions (temperature, water make, risk of fire, etc).
